<p>Claro que los genes son muy importantes, pero los genes por sí mismos no hacen nada; se trata de una molécula profundamente relacional que sólo aporta algo en el contexto celular. Lo que convierte el ADN en una molécula viva es su dinamismo y sus interrelaciones. Como ha manifestado el médico y ensayista Lewis Thomas: “Mi hígado es mucho más listo que yo; preferiría pilotar un jumbo que dirigir mi propio hígado”. Tendría que atender a demasiadas variables.
